Concordia Oktoberfest Attracts over 800, Honors CEO Keith Frndak
Cabot, PA – Sometimes it’s hard to remember which has been at Concordia longer: the annual Oktoberfest or the leadership of President & CEO Keith Frndak…
For the record, the Oktoberfest wins – but only by six years.
On Oct. 4, over 800 residents, staff, and community members visited the Concordia at Cabot campus to enjoy German themed food, entertainment, children’s activities, and, of course, an amazing Zambelli Fireworks display (that lasted over 20 minutes). In addition to celebrating Concordia’s German heritage, those in attendance were also commemorating the career and vision of Frndak, who recently experienced his 25th employment anniversary with the organization.
Frndak took part in a meet and greet with several hundred people who were eager to get a minute with Concordia’s leader. Afterwards, several individuals close to him – including Concordia Board Members Rev. Barry Keurulainen, Rev. Jamison Hardy, Paul Rehkopf, and Jim Limbaugh (President of the board), and his daughter Kay Frndak – all said a few words. Rehkopf also put on a presentation highlighting Frndak’s career at Concordia.
Other features of the day included bus tours of Saxony Farm Estates, independent and assisted living open houses, a flu shot clinic (by Concordia Visiting Nurses), hayrides, and the famous Saxonburg Trolleys. Special thanks to Concordia’s dietary department for catering the event and staff member Carol Schuler for roasting a pig and lamb.
Also, a very special thanks to Haven residents for contributing to the bake and rummage sales and to all the volunteers who helped make this event a success.
