Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident George H. Amsler, formerly of North Huntingdon, PA, recently celebrated his 85th birthday.

Amsler was born in Franklin, PA on March 20, 1922. Although never married, he has remained close with his two younger brothers, James L. Amsler Jr. and Thomas W. Amsler, both of Knox, PA.

Amsler has been a resident at Concordia Haven II since May of 1997. He retired in 1984 as a supervisor with Westinghouse Air Brake Company. He has been a member of Linway United Presbyterian Church in North Versailles, PA for over 60 years.

He served in the U.S. Army in the CBI Theater for over 38 months during World War II, spending two years in India. His interests include photography, gathering with friends, and taking cruises. To date, he has taken cruises in Alaska, the Panama Canal, and East and West Caribbean.
