Good Samaritan Hospice Names New Executive Director

Cabot, PA – Good Samaritan Hospice (GSH), a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, recently named Butler resident Anzie Kelley as Executive Director.

The former Director of Nursing at the Concordia at Cabot location, Kelley’s responsibilities include managing all aspects of GSH, serving as a liaison between the board, the staff and the community, keeping GSH in compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines, and day-to-day management of the Cabot unit, the Wexford house and community services.

I love working for Concordia because I believe in our mission,” Kelley said. “I know that giving quality patient care in a Christian environment is what it is all about at Concordia. That is important to me,”

Kelley has been in the Concordia family for seven years. She has an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Butler County Community College and has participated in the Pittsburgh End of Life Collaborative and Teaching the Educator - Nurse Aide Training Program, among other things. Overall, she has 14 years experience in nursing.

I became interested in nursing when I was hospitalized in the 3rd grade,” she said. “I had wonderful nurses and decided that was what I would be some day. Nursing to me is not a job, but a calling.”

Kelley lives in Butler with her husband Rick. She has two sons, Jason and Jonathan, who are married and also live in Butler. She is a member of St. Andrew’s United Presbyterian Church where she is co-chairman of the Board of Deacons. In her free time she enjoys reading, decorating, and spending time with her family.
