Concordia Haven III Couple Celebrates 65th Wedding Anniversary

Cabot, PA – Concordia Haven III residents Dr. Carl and Ida (Fondyce) Bean celebrated 65 years of marriage with a family dinner recently.

The couple exchanged vows on April 18, 1942 at Ida’s former home in Meadville, PA. They have two children, Mary Bates of Maple Shade, NJ and John Bean of Midlothian, VA.

Carl, who retired as the Chief of Radiology from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 1979, enjoys football, reading, and writing. Ida was an R.N. and homemaker for most of her life. They are active members of Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg.

The couple has been at Concordia since October 2002.  Ida was active in the Butler Women's Club and Carl was in the Rotary for many years.
