Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident H. Glenn Beecher, formerly of Leechburg, PA, recently celebrated his 85th birthday with a small party with friends and family.

Beecher was born in Westmoreland County on April 2, 1922. He married Helen Zimmerman on Valentine’s Day in 1946 and has four children, Jennifer Foley of Moon Township; Christine Bollinger of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Mark Beecher of Parkersburg, WV; and Kevin Beecher of Leechburg. He also has six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Beecher has been a resident at Concordia Haven II since August of 1996. He retired in 1983 as a general contractor and machinist with Allegheny Ludlum Steel after 37 years of service. He is a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg, PA and the Leechburg Masonic Lodge. He also is an Emeritus on the Allegheny Kiski Valley Historical Society Board of Directors.

Some of his interests include carpentry and traveling. He and his wife have visited all 50 states.
