Concordia Independent Living Resident Turns 85

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Helen Beecher celebrated her 85th birthday recently.

The former Helen Zimmerman was born in Leechburg on May 24, 1923. She married H. Glenn Beecher on Feb. 14, 1946 at First Lutheran Church in Leechburg and has four children: Jennifer Foley of Moon Twp.; Christine Bollinger of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Mark Beecher of Parkersburg, WV; and Kevin Beecher of Leechburg. She also has six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A housewife for most of her life, Beecher is still a member at First Lutheran Church in Leechburg, as well as a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Apollo. She has also been active in the Leechburg and Tarentum Historical Society. In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking and making photo albums.
