Concordia Independent Living Resident Turns 90

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Blanche Sell celebrated her 90th birthday on Oct. 17 with a party in the Haven II dining room.

The former Blanche Anderson was born Oct. 20, 1919 in Jefferson Twp. She married Ernest Sell on July 2, 1952 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Saxonburg and has two children: Kathy Casey of Lower Burrell and Carole Emery of North Ridgeville, Ohio. She also has two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews with whom she is close.

Sell retired from Alcoa as a payroll clerk in 1952, although she continued to work until 1993. Her last employer was Fashion Bug in Butler. She has lived at the Havens for 13 years.

A member at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sarver, Sell enjoys playing cards and reading.
