Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven I resident Dorothy Blankenbuehler (Aune), formerly of Pittsburgh, celebrated her 85th birthday recently with a family gathering.

Blankenbuehler was born in Crookston, MN on April 16, 1922. She married Rev. Lorenz Blankenbuehler on June 3, 1946 and has three children, Connie Mavroudis of Richmond, VA; June Bodnar of Allison Park, PA; and Marla Michaels of Portland, MA. She also has three grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Blankenbuehler has been a resident at Concordia Haven II since August of 1990. She is a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, PA and participates in the Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus, the Concordia Chorale, and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

Her hobbies include walking, crossword puzzles, and reading.
