Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 90th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven III resident Carl B. Bean, M.D., formerly of Butler, recently celebrated his 90th birthday with a family dinner.

Bean was born in Cochranton, PA on April 3, 1917. He married Ida Fondyce on April 18, 1942 and has two children, Mary Bean Bates of Maple Shade, NJ and John D. Bean of Midlothian, VA.

Bean has been a resident at Concordia Haven III since October of 2002. He retired in 1979 as a Radiologist at the V.A. Hospital in Butler. He and his wife are members of Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg. Bean is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the Pittsburgh Roentgen Society, the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and the Radiological Society of North America. He was also active in the Rotary for many years.

Some of his interests include football, reading, writing, and music.
