Concordia Visiting Nurses Announces Key Promotions

Cabot – Martin J. Trettel of Sarver has been named President and Chief Executive Officer and William J. Giallombardo of Butler has been named Chief Financial Officer of Concordia Visiting Nurses as a result of corporate restructuring within the Concordia Lutheran Ministries system, announced Keith E. Frndak, President and CEO, Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Trettel, a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a B.S. in Community Health and a M.S. in Health Education, began his career at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in 1996 when he was named Director of Home and Community Services.  As part of the senior team, Trettel is responsible for the development, implementation, operation and growth of home care services at Concordia.  He is also responsible for strategic planning, market research, new service development, existing service/process evaluation, and consultation for Concordia Visiting Nurses.

Trettel began his career as a Case Manager/Protective Services with Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging.  From 1991-1996 Trettel was the Director of a contracted home care agency with the Allegheny, Butler, Fayette, and Westmoreland County Area Agencies on Aging that provided nursing, personal care, respite, housekeeping and laundry services to their clients.  Trettel is a member of the Finance Committee of Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Homecare Association (PHA) as well as the Board of Directors of Good Samaritan Hospice, Alliance Visiting Nurses, Concordia Tele-CareGivers and Concordia Lutheran Health and Human Care.

Giallombardo came to Concordia in 2002 as controller for CVN from Heckett Multiserv, a diversified steel mill service organization in Butler having worked for VNA Services and Foundation for 11 years as Vice President of Finance/Controller.  Beginning his accounting career at T.W. Phillips Gas & Oil Company in Butler, Giallombardo earned an MBA from Robert Morris University and B.A. in economics and business from Slippery Rock University.  He serves on the Concordia Lutheran Ministries Foundation, Concordia Tele-CareGivers, and Alliance Visiting Nurses Boards as well as the Treasurer of Good Samaritan Hospice Board of Directors.

“Concordia is blessed to have the leadership qualities that both senior managers possess.  They are well qualified to position Concordia Visiting Nurses as the premiere homecare organization in the region,” Frndak notes.

Martin and wife, Peggy, admissions counselor for retirement living at Concordia, have one son, Jacob and are members of Faith Lutheran Church in Butler.

Bill and his wife of nearly 30 years, Bonnie have two grown daughters, Sara of Butler and Julie who lives in Cranberry and a West Highland White Terrier, Tucker.  Bill enjoys golfing and building furniture.
