Concordia Acquires Mt. Lebanon Continuing Care Retirement Community

Cabot, PA – On Oct. 26, Concordia Lutheran Ministries acquired Covenant at South Hills, a Continuing Care Retirement Community situated on 19 acres of land in Mt. Lebanon, 1300 Bower Hill Road.

The facility, which will now be called Concordia of the South Hills, consists of 126 one- and two-bedroom independent living apartments, 48 assisted living, 12 memory-support, and 46 skilled nursing beds. Concordia’s Board of Directors approved the $15 million purchase of the facility to further enhance Concordia’s mission and future.

Concordia President and CEO Keith Frndak said, “We are looking forward to the opportunity to serve more and serve better at Concordia of the South Hills. We believe this facility is a great addition to the Concordia Lutheran Ministries family.”

With the acquisition, Concordia becomes the fourth largest nonprofit senior care provider in the region, ranked on number of beds. Low introductory pricing and special financing will be available for those immediately interested in Concordia of the South Hills. Retirement apartments start at $645 per month.

A Grand Opening Celebration featuring tours and refreshments has been set for Nov. 15 at 1 p.m.
