Concordia to Hold Annual Summer Festival Behind Lund Care Center
Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its 126th annual Summer Festival from noon – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29 under the tents behind the Lund Care Center.
The Festival will feature a traditional summer menu, musical entertainment, and a 3:00 p.m. worship service led by Rev. Albert B. Collver, Ph.D, executive pastoral assistant for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) World Relief and Human Care.
The musical entertainment includes Dave’s Country Keyboards at 11:30 a.m., World of Children at 1:00 p.m., the Campraise singers at 2:00 p.m., and The Jentz, featuring Concordia employee Ken Robeson, from 4:30 p.m. until the event’s close at 6:00 p.m. The Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus will sing during the worship service, accompanied by several Concordia Haven residents.
The menu for the day includes Roast Beef, Hot Dogs, Ham BBQ, Parsley Potatoes, Baked Beans, Pasta Salad, Coleslaw, Caramel Apple Nut Pie, Strawberry Bavarian Tart, Ice Cream, and assorted beverages.
In addition, Concordia directors, Rev. Jamison Hardy, pastor at Our Savior, Mt. Lebanon, Rev. Barry Keurulainen, senior pastor at St. Luke, Cabot, Rev Herbert Schumm, pastor at St. John, Millvale, and Rev. Paul Rist, pastor at Ascension Lutheran, McCandless, will participate as lectors. Concordia Chaplain Jack Hartman, who coordinated the service, will be the liturgist.
Rev. Collver is a graduate of Concordia University in Ann Arbor with a B.A. in Biblical Languages. He entered Concordia Seminary, St. Louis and earned his Master of Divinity in 1997. He continued his studies at the Seminary where he received his Master of Sacred Theology in 1991 followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in 2001.
