Concordia Summer Festival Enjoyed by 500+

Cabot, PA – As the crowd of 500 or so filtered out from under the tents at Concordia’s 128th Annual Summer Festival, the stories of the afternoon were told by the infectious smiles on everyone’s faces.

While the official theme for the day was “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” the feeling was reminiscent of Concordia days of old, with a revamped “picnicy” menu, some old time music, and, of course, the return of former Concordia Chaplain Rev. Dr. Arnold Kromphardt.

A few additions to this year’s Festival included Glassblower Bob Greer, an inflatable bouncer castle for kids, and an off the cuff appearance by the Concordia baseball team, champions in four out of the last five seasons. The Johnny Appleseed District Barbershop Group, Campraise Singers, and Dixiecupps Trio rounded out the entertainment. Tours for the day included Saxony Farm Estate, Haven I, and Lund Assisted Living.

Concordia extends a special thanks to all those in attendance, as well as the dozens of volunteers who made the day a success.
