Concordia Haven Apartments Hosting Nutrition Classes
Cabot, PA – Concordia Haven Apartments is hosting its monthly nutrition class on March 16 at 2 p.m. in the Haven III ground floor game room, and in recognition of National Nutrition Month, the class will be free to the community.
The March session topic is “Nutrition from the ground up,” and will be led by class instructor Ruth Douthett, Concordia dietetic technician, registered. She will do a food demonstration on incorporating fruits into your salad and will also discuss growing lettuce and other small vegetables in a small space.
The classes are held on the third Tuesday of every month (until November) at one of the Haven Apartment buildings and include a wide array of nutritional topics. Other than the free March session, the cost is $10 per class for those in the community. Haven residents can attend at no cost. The class is held in conjunction with Concordia’s “senior college,” Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning.
Heart-healthy refreshments will be available and the sessions are about an hour and a half in length, with time for questions and answers afterwards. For more information or to register for the class, contact Haven Program Director Cathy Questiaux at 724.352.1571, ext 8518.
