Concordia Hires New Case Manager

Cabot, PA – Concordia Visiting Nurses, a part of Concordia Lutheran Ministries recently hired Chicora resident Brenda R. Vensel as a case manager.

A 1978 graduate of the former St. Francis General Hospital School of Nursing, Vensel has worked for the Visiting Nurses Association since July of 1998 as a team leader and a case manager.  Before her experience with VNA, she worked as a clinical supervisor, director of professional services and associate director of professional services for IHS Home Care, as well as serving as a staff nurse for ABC Home Health, A Total Home Care, Inc., Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, and Chula Vista Community Hospital in Chula Vista, CA.

Her experience is extensive and she is well trained in nearly all aspects of the healthcare industry including her role as a liaison with physicians, making referrals, direct patient care, coordinating patient care with other services, and training home health aides.

Vensel is married to Lenny and has two children, Richard, 25, and Michelle, 23. Her interests include quilting and reading and she is a member of the Riversbend Quilt Guild. She said her favorite aspect of her position is the communication between the patients, staff members & physicians in providing the patient with the highest quality care.
