Concordia Oktoberfest Coming October 3

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries will hold its annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 4 – 8 p.m., but with a change in venue this year: Haven I.

And, as has become the tradition at Concordia, a Zambelli Fireworks display will light up the sky at 7:45 p.m.

Entertainment for the affair will include acclaimed group The Continental Dukes German Band, as well as a car show and hayrides. For the children, there will be caricature artists, petting zoo, pony rides, bouncer castle, face painting, games, and crafts. The soon-to-be-finished baseball field in Concordia’s back yard will be dedicated as well.

A bus will be available for tours of Saxony Farm and there will be Open Houses at Haven I and Lund Assisted Living. Saxonburg Trolleys and golf carts will be transporting visitors around the campus and Concordia Visiting Nurses will host a flu vaccine clinic.

In addition to the entertainment and tours, the Concordia food service staff will prepare a German-themed menu for everyone’s enjoyment. As a fundraiser for the local 4H club, Concordia employee Carol Schuler will roast a pig and lamb as well. There will be homemade noodle, jewelry, and bake sales, thanks to the Haven ladies, Epiphany, and Christ Lutheran Churches.
