Concordia Independent Living Resident Turns 85

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Dorothy Gunther, formerly of Greensburg, celebrated her 85th birthday on Saturday with a family gathering at the J Barn Country Inn.

The former Dorothy Detke was born June 5, 1923 in Cleveland, OH. She married Henry Gunther on Sept. 23, 1944 in New Castle and has four children: Sharen Weldon of Pittsburgh; Linda Yaro of Lexington, KY; Darryl Gunther of Cranberry Twp.; and Tracy Fasnacht of Irwin. She also has nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A homemaker for most of her life, Gunther is a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. She enjoys quilting, reading, visiting family, and cheering on the Pittsburgh sports teams.
