Concordia Independent Living Resident Turns 85

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Emma Sargent, formerly of Lower Burrell, celebrated her 85th birthday with a surprise family dinner at the Saxonburg Hotel, followed by a surprise reception with friends at Haven II.

Born in Braeburn, PA on Sept. 28, 1924, the former Emma Klein married Dale Sargent on June 9, 1951 in New Kensington. They have two children: Beverly Sargent of Franklin, WI and Carol Leshock of Greensburg. Another child, John, is deceased. They also have two grandchildren.

Sargent worked as secretary at Koppers Research in Verona until her retirement in 1953. She is a member of Cabot United Methodist Church in Butler and enjoys reading and sewing.
