Concordia Summer Festival Right Around the Corner

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its 128th annual Summer Festival on Sunday, July 26 from noon – 6:00 p.m. under the tents behind the Lund Care Center.

The Festival will feature a traditional picnic menu around the “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” theme. There will be a 3:00 p.m. worship service led by Rev. Dr. Arnold Kromphardt. The Pittsburgh Lutheran Chorus, accompanied by Concordia Haven residents, will sing during the worship service.

Dr. Kromphardt is remembered at Concordia as he served as chaplain from 1995-1997. He is well known is the Pittsburgh area, having been pastor at First Lutheran in Sharpsburg from 1960-1968. He established Camp Luther Crest on the Concordia at Cabot campus during that time. In his 80th year he continues to serve the Lord as pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trinity, FL.

The entertainment for the Festival will include the Johnny Appleseed District Barbershop Group, Dixiecupps Trio, Campraise Singers, and a glass blower. Additionally, Saxonburg Trolleys and golf carts will be transporting people around campus. There will also be a number of activities for children – including a bouncer castle, clown, caricature artists, crafts, and games.

Tours for the day include: Saxony Farm Estate from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Haven I from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m., and Lund from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
