Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident George E. Boggs recently celebrated his 85th birthday.

Boggs was born on April 3, 1923. He and his wife Mary Frances Burtner have lived at Concordia for five years, since moving from their home in Emlenton. The Boggs’ were married at Thorn Creek Methodist Church on May 20, 1946 and have three children: Beverly Jean Sasse of Butler; Barton Allen Boggs of Omaha, NB; Brenda Lynn Hall of Richmond, VA; and Beth Ann Jones of Hooper, CO. They also have 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Boggs worked as a missionary pilot and mechanic for Mission Aviation Fellowship until his retirement in 1990. He also served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

An avid photographer, Boggs is a member at Freeport Road Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He and his wife have lived in over 10 different areas of the world, including the Philippines, New Guinea, Indonesia, and California.
