Concordia Lutheran Ministries to Hold Annual Golf Outing

Cabot, PA – The fourth annual Concordia Lutheran Ministries Golf Outing is scheduled for Monday, July 23 at Deer Run Golf Club in Gibsonia.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Concordia’s Capital Campaign “A Time to Build,” which is in support of the $12.5 million Lund Care Center Expansion, which opened in November of last year. The expansion is currently home to many of the Haven I residents while the Haven I complex is being reconstructed.

The signature sponsor for this year’s event is once again Citigroup SmithBarney, who has held this sponsorship for the last four years.

The event will include a round of championship golf at the par 72, 7,000-yard, three-and-a-half star course. Golfers will also enjoy a gift, coffee and donuts, lunch, full course dinner, and awards banquet.

Six contest holes comprised of closest to the pin, hole in one, longest drives, and straightest drives will add to the day’s activities. Prizes for the various contest holes include a 2007 Toyota Camry, $5000 cash, and Ben Hogan Irons, among other things.

Eight prizes will be awarded. There will be four flights, and within each flight a prize will be awarded for the lowest gross and second lowest gross scores. Flights will be based on scoring ranges. $200 for lowest gross in each flight and $100 for second lowest gross in each flight.

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Shot Gun Start. The round will follow a scramble format. Participation in the outing is tax deductible.

The Deer Run course is considered one of Pennsylvania’s top 30 public courses according to the Web site BestCourses.com. It is said to have especially challenging par threes and an outstanding clubhouse facility.
