Concordia Lutheran Ministries Golf Outing Draws 150+ Golfers
Cabot, PA – At the Fourth Annual Concordia Lutheran Ministries Golf Outing July 23, nearly $60,000 was raised for Concordia’s Capital Campaign, making it the highest earning fund raiser in the organization’s recent history
The outing, held at Deer Run Golf Club in Gibsonia, played host to 152 golfers of all skill levels. There were four flights of golfers with the first and second place finishers in each flight winning prizes.
First place winners in each flight were: Joe Grey, Bill Heinl, Dave Johnston, and Brian Ellis (representing The Gateway Engineers); Barb Rodella, Joann Livingston, Shirley McElhinney, and Shirley Phillis; Greg Ohl, Brent Ohl, Ryan Ohl, and Merv Capo; and Josh Phillips, Amby Bauer, and Matt Phillips.
In addition to the round of golf, participants also enjoyed a banquet dinner, prize drawings, commemorative golf journals, and a boxed lunch.
There were six contest holes and a putting contest at the outing as well. At hole six, Wally Phillips from Snyder Brothers Inc. won the closest to the pin contest, at seven, Josh Phillips won the longest drive contest, at eight, Bill Weborg from R.W. Larson won the closest to the pin contest, at 10 Jim Annett from Alle-Kiski Medical Center won the straightest drive contest, at 12, Jerry Parfitt from Bank of America won the closest to the pin contest, and at 16 Dan Donahue from Cura Hospitality won the final closest to the pin contest.
All the contest hole winners received a $50 credit to the Deer Run Golf Club pro shop. There were no winners for the hole-in-one contests, for which the prizes included a 2007 Toyota Corolla, Dell Computer, Ben Hogan Irons, and $5000 cash.
