Concordia Independent Living Couple Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Cabot, PA – Concordia Haven II residents Joseph and Helen Fieo, formerly of Natrona Heights, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary recently with a family dinner at Red Lobster in Butler on June 12.

Joseph and the former Helen Celko were married at Trinity Church in Metuchen, NJ on June 12, 1938. They have three children: Melody Fieo of Salisbury, MD; Joseph Fieo Jr. of Dubois; and Crystal Rennie of New Castle.

Before his retirement, Joseph worked at PPG as a glass inspector and also as a carpenter and cabinetmaker. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as well. Helen was a homemaker for most of her life and was involved in the Allegheny County Historical Society, Girl Scouts of America, and Eastern Star.

The couple has lived at Concordia for eight years. They are members at Central Presbyterian Church.
