Concordia Independent Living Resident Turns 90

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Dorothy Evelyn Hillwig celebrated her 90th birthday on Nov. 3 with a party in the Haven II activity room with family and friends.

The former Dorothy King was born Nov. 4, 1917 in Chicora, PA. Dorothy married husband Kenneth Hillwig in October of 1940 in New Cumberland, WV; he passed away on March 31, 2004. She has two children: Dennis Hillwig of Chambersburg, PA and Jeffrey Hillwig of Parker, PA; as well as four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Hillwig has been at Concordia for six years, since moving from her home in Bruin, PA. She was a homemaker, tending to her children and home for most of her life. She is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora, PA and enjoys crocheting, reading, and shopping in her spare time.
