Who Pays for Hospice Care?
The services provided by Good Samaritan Hospice may be reimbursable through Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and other private insurance companies. Some insurance policies may not cover Hospice services unless certain conditions are met. If your insurance company does not cover the services you need or you are uninsured, you may still obtain Hospice care through private pay or alternative funding sources.
You may qualify for Hospice benefits under Medicare if you:
- Are under the care of a physician
- Are diagnosed with a terminal illness
- Elect the Hospice benefit in place of traditional health care service
