Concordia Housekeeper Retires After 20+ Years
Cabot, PA – If the number of years worked for the same employer was the barometer for legally purchasing a Margarita, Concordia Housekeeper Lois Curfman could lawfully stop by the bar after work – not that she would. October of last year marked her 21st year with the organization.
Curfman, who most recently worked on Miller Hall in the Lund Care Center, retired last week after almost 22 years with Concordia Lutheran Ministries. After all this time, she’s looking forward to spending some more time doing what she loves: gardening, traveling, and seeing her four – soon to be five – grandchildren.
For Curfman, two things were clear – she enjoyed cleaning and was motivated by helping others. These two qualities combined made her job at Concordia all the more fulfilling. Curfman admits that she’ll miss spending time with the residents, but what she’ll miss even more are her co-workers and the relationships she’s made over these last two decades.
A member at Freeport Alliance Church, Curfman lives in Sarver with her husband Marvin. They have three children: Renee Curfman of Gibsonia; James Curfman of Leechburg; and Shelley Navaro of Monroeville.
