Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries has seen tremendous ups and downs in the last 17 years, and Haven I resident Ruth Goerss has been there through it all. On Aug. 27 she celebrated her 85th birthday.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY in 1922, Goerss worked as a manager of accounts receivable for Conrail in Bethlehem, PA. She retired in 1982.

Goerss, an active member at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, lived in Hendersonville, NC before coming to Concordia in 1990. In her free time she enjoys reading, participating in choral groups, listening to classical music, and watching football.
