Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 90th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Bernetta “Netta” M. Oesterling celebrated her 90th birthday on Sept. 9, as family and friends gathered for a dinner in her honor.

The former Bernetta Geibel was born in Herman, PA on Sept. 9, 1917. She married Cliiford E. Oesterling in Wheeling, WV on April 10, 1937 and has four children: Sally Sterling of Butler; Eleanor Rodgers of Fenelton; Cliff Oesterling Jr. of Butler; and Jean Thorington of Harrisonville, MO. She also has 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Oesterling has lived at the Havens for 10 years, since moving from her home in Butler. A housewife in her earlier years, she has always enjoyed working on puzzles and reading. She is a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church
