Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven III resident Jean Heckman (Shafer), formerly of Apollo, celebrated her 85th birthday recently with several dinners and family gatherings, one at The Runway restaurant in Butler.

Heckman was born in PA on Sept. 2, 1922. She married Lloyd Heckman in July of 1943 and has one child, Patricia Troup of Apollo. She also has three grandchildren.

Heckman has been a resident at Concordia Haven III since October of 2001. She is a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Saxonburg, PA and a life member of the North Apollo Ladies Auxiliary.

She loves to travel with her friend and fellow Concordia Haven resident Vonnie Brinker, who she has actually been friends with since the first grade. She also enjoys playing cards.
