Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven I resident Dean F. Kroh, formerly of Washington, PA, celebrated his 85th birthday with a family dinner at Outback Steakhouse on March 9.

Kroh was born in Rural Valley, PA on March 11, 1922. He married Esther Galbreath on Sept. 2, 1949 and had four children, David Kroh of Wexford; June Kroh of Grants, NM; Dean Kroh of Pittsburgh; and Daniel Kroh, who passed away in December of 2005. He has six grandchildren.

Kroh has been a resident at Concordia Haven I since December of 1997. He retired in 1987 as a medical missionary with Christian & Missionary Alliance, where he is currently a member. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Association and the Christian Medical and Dental Association, as well as an alumnus of Wheaton College in Illinois and the University of Pittsburgh Medical School.

He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps for 20 months in Japan. His hobbies include Bible study, choral, violin, travel, and staying in touch with missionaries around the world.
