Concordia Lutheran Ministries Couple Celebrates 65th Wedding Anniversary
Cabot, PA – Raymond and Eleanor Spiering Lorant Jr. of Concordia Lutheran Ministries’ Oertel Care Center celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception involving family and friends on Nov. 27.
The couple, formerly of Allegheny Twp. and Vandergrift, married on Nov. 26, 1941 at St. Josephs Parish in New Kensington, PA. They have two sons, Raymond Arthur Lorant III and his wife Diane of Apollo and Donald Albert Lorant and his wife Eileen of Allegheny Twp. They also have four grandchildren and are expecting their first great-grandchild in January.
Raymond was a glasscutter at American Window Glass in Arnold, PA for 30 years before working in the same profession in West Virginia. He retired in 1978. Eleanor was a cook for the Clarksburg, WV Elks Club, preparing dinner for over 300 people every Sunday.
The two are members of St. Gertrudes Church in Vandergrift, PA. Raymond enjoys baseball and soccer, which he played when he was younger, and bowling. Eleanor’s interests include knitting, crocheting, and cooking.
