Concordia at Rebecca Resident Turns 100, Shows Off Original Art

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries has been home to many creative people in our 126-year history, one of which recently celebrated her 100th birthday.

Concordia at Rebecca Residence resident Mary Males (Fry) celebrated her 100th birthday on Oct. 27 with an art exhibit in the Rebecca Residence Great Room from 1 - 4 p.m. Her family was on hand to help show off the original pieces.

Males was born in her parents home on Oct. 28, 1907. In September of 1930 she married August Males in New Castle, PA. She has one son, Ronald G. Males of Hampton Township, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.

A saleswoman for most of her life, Males attended what was then known as the Butler Business College, taking night classes to earn her degree. She worked for the SS Kresgi Company until she retired in 1950.

A resident at Concordia since August of 2002, Males is a member of St. Johns Reformed Church on Evans City Road. Her interests include art, singing (she sang in the choir for 25 years), playing the piano, and playing the organ.
