Concordia Haven Resident Celebrates 85th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven III resident Margaret J. Mann, formerly of Freeport, celebrated her 85th birthday with a family gathering during the weekend of Aug. 18.

The former Margaret Jack was born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 15, 1922. She married Austin Mann on Oct. 24, 1947 and has four children: Austin W. Mann II of Indiana, PA; Anna Mann Lowry of Mooresville, NC; Martha Mann Conkling of Norfolk, VA; and Carol Mann Herrick of Lewisburg, WV. She also has eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Prior to her retirement in 1987, Mann worked as a teacher in the Freeport School District. She is a member at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is also a Seton Hill College alumnus, where she was involved in Delta Kappa Gamma.

Mann has lived at Concordia for five years. She enjoys playing bridge, traveling, and collecting and refining antiques.
