Concordia Skilled Nursing Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Skilled Nursing resident Florence Maridon, formerly of Butler, celebrated her 100th birthday on Nov. 9 with a pizza party with friends and family.

The former Florence Nowacki was born in Leechburg, PA on Nov. 7, 1908. She married James Maridon in 1926. Maridon has been a resident at Concordia for four years.

A homemaker earlier in her life, Maridon is a member at St. Catherine’s Church. Her nephew, Butler resident Ed Nowacki, said that her and her husband spent years raising chickens at their home – although she won’t admit to it. Her hobbies include crossword puzzles and word searches.
