Concordia President/CEO Awarded for Missions Work with LCMS

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries President and CEO Keith Frndak was one of six recipients of the inaugural Common Chest award, for demonstrating outstanding and faithful missions service.

Through Concordia, Frndak has committed over $400,000 in the last year to missions work both locally and internationally. The capital for this work comes from revenue generated by Providence Pharmacy, the in-house pharmacy of Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Specifically, Concordia has funded three orphanages in Kenya, a medical clinic in Kibera, and a soup kitchen in Pittsburgh, among several other projects. Frndak insists that Concordia’s mission work is part of its responsibility as good stewards.

“Concordia has been blessed throughout our 125 year history, and as good stewards of the gifts God has given us, it is our obligation to help those in need and further His word,” he said.

The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) World Relief/Human Care Executive Director Matthew Harrison presented the award. “Common Chest” refers to Martin Luther’s idea that a community should care for its needy through lockbox donations.
