Concordia Promotes Staff Member to Director of Nursing

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries recently announced the promotion of Shawnee Neff to Director of Nursing at the Cabot location, where she will oversee the skilled nursing care provided on the units.

Neff, the former assistant director of nursing, first came to Concordia in 2001 as the Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator. Even prior to her work at Concordia, she had an interest in health care – ever since working as an aide after high school she has never left the long term care industry.

“I went into health care because I enjoyed working with people,” she said. “It’s almost impossible to stay in a bad mood when I’m around my residents because they’re always making me smile, which is why I always strive to make it better for them.”

Neff received her R.N. diploma from the Sewickley Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1993 and her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Waynesburg College in 2006.

In her spare time, she enjoys camping, reading, and riding motorcycles with her husband Rick. The couple lives in Petrolia with their “spoiled rotten” cat Spunky.
