Concordia Haven Apartments Hosting Nutrition Classes
Cabot, PA – Concordia Haven Apartments is starting a monthly nutrition class beginning Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. in the Haven I second floor activity room.
The classes will be held in conjunction with Concordia’s “senior college,” Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning. The February session is on heart health and will be led by class instructor Ruth Douthett, Concordia dietetic technician, registered.
The classes will be held on the third Tuesday of every month (until November) at one of the Haven Apartment buildings and include a wide array of nutritional topics. Each session is $10 for those in the community and free for Concordia residents.
Improving your diet and making healthy lifestyle changes are an important part of reducing the risk of heart disease. February’s session will teach participants a number of heart healthy steps they can take to reduce their possibility.
Heart-healthy refreshments will be available and the sessions are about an hour and a half in length, with time for questions and answers afterwards. For more information or to register for the class, contact Haven Program Director Cathy Questiaux at 724.352.1571, ext 8518.
