Concordia to Host Annual Oktoberfest

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries will hold its annual Oktoberfest celebration behind the Lund Care Center on Saturday, October 4 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. And like the last two years, a Zambelli Fireworks display will light up the sky at 7:45 p.m.

Entertainment for the affair will include the North Star Kids, strolling accordionist Conrad Ostertag, and much more. For the children, there will be a caricature artist, a petting zoo, pony rides, games, crafts, and hayrides. A bus will be available for tours of Saxony Farm Estate and there will be an Open House at the finished Haven I building.

In addition to the entertainment and tours, the Concordia food service staff will prepare a German-themed menu for everyone’s enjoyment - Kielbassa Sandwich (with or without kraut), Baked Garlic & Herb Chicken Breast, Hot Dogs (with or without kraut), German Potato Salad, Glazed baby carrots with craisins, Calico Beans, Hot Pretzels, Nachos, Warm Cider with Cinnamon Stick, Homemade Pumpkin Pie, Apple Dumpling with Cinnamon Glaze, and assorted beverages. Additionally, Concordia employee Carol Schuler will roast a pig and some lamb.

There will also be rummage, jewelry, and bake sales, thanks to the Haven ladies, Epiphany, and Christ Lutheran Churches. The event is open to the community and all children 12 and under are entitled to a free food voucher.
