Concordia Assisted Living Resident Turns 100

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Assisted Living resident Elsie Schaefer celebrated her 100th birthday on June 18 with a party in the Oertel Care Center library at 1:00 p.m.

The former Elsie Hesse was born in Pittsburgh on June 18, 1908. She married Harry Schaefer in June of 1957 and has been at Concordia since August 16, 2007. Prior to Concordia, she lived in Baldwin, PA.

Before her retirement in 1960, Schaefer worked as an assistant treasurer at Birmingham Fire Insurance Company of Pennsylvania. She is a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Whitehall and enjoys word searches, singing, bingo, and reading.
