Concordia Independent Living Resident Celebrates 90th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Emma M. Stamman, formerly of Hendersonville, NC, celebrated her 90th birthday with a family party on May 21 at her residence.

The former Emma Arp was born in Hardwick, MN on May 21, 1917. She married Wilbur Stamman on June 3, 1940 at her parents’ farm in Hardwick. She has three children, Virginia M. Rutz of Columbus, OH; David L. Stamman of Grove City, OH; and Dean W. Stamman of Exton, PA. She also has four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Prior to her retirement in 1979, Stamman worked for the J.C. Penney Company for 13 years and was active in the Girl Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

Stamman has lived at Concordia for 11 years. She is a member at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. While living in Ohio for 18 years, she served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the Altar Guild. She enjoys reading and playing cards.
