Concordia Independent Living Couple Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Cabot, PA – Concordia Haven III residents Margaret and Robert Stark celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Robert and the former Margaret Lois Wright were married June 25, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Swissvale. They have six children: Richard Stark of Shaler; Robert Stark of Chapel Hill, NC; Keith Stark of West Caldwell, NJ; Paul Stark of Orlando, FL; Phillip Stark of Orlando, FL; and Lynn Blasé of Colorado Springs, CO. The couple also has 15 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Margaret retired in 1987 from Mars Twp. School District after working as a teacher’s aide for 20 years. Robert worked for what is now Wachovia until his retirement in 1987. After their initial retirement, the pair formed an employment agency until full retirement in 1992.

Robert served in battalion headquarters in Japan and Korea, during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and the American Banking Association at Rutgers University. He has also served as president of the Shaler Township School Board.

The Starks currently attend Faith Lutheran Church in Butler and serve on the resident advisory committee at Concordia. In their spare time they enjoy singing with various choruses and groups.
