Concordia Independent Living Resident Turns 90

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries resident Augusta Tokar celebrated her 90th birthday recently with a small party with friends and family in the Haven II dining room.

The former Augusta Pecher was born March 18, 1919 in Glenshaw. She married husband Vincent on May 15, 1946 in Bloomfield and has six children: James Tokar of Greenville; Richard Tokar of St. John’s, FL; Christine Randas of Springdale; Claire Dible of Smithton; Mary Weber of Glenshaw; and Phil Tokar of Gibsonia. She also has 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A retired cafeteria worker, Tokar’s last employer before retirement in 1985 was St. Mary’s Church School. She is a member at St. Mary’s Church in Glenshaw and enjoys sewing and playing cards in her free time.
