Concordia Independent Living Resident Turns 90

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven I resident Valerie Mitchell celebrated her 90th birthday recently with a family party.

Born in Harrison Twp. on May 29, 1918, the former Valerie Masarik married husband William Mitchell on Nov. 28, 1940 at St. Mathias Church in Natrona Heights. She has four children: William Mitchell of Lower Burrell; Carole Fries of Chambersburg; Marcia Hill of Tucson, AZ; and Keith Mitchell of Cranberry Twp. She also has nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mitchell was self-employed for most of her life until retiring in 1972. She is a member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Natrona Heights and enjoys sewing, crafts, reading, crosswords, bingo, and talk shows.
