Concordia Independent Living Couple Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Cabot, PA – Concordia Haven II residents Rev. David and Marjorie Ruth Walborn recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family trip to Williamsburg, VA – the same place where they spent their honeymoon six decades earlier.

Walborn and the former Marjorie Ruth Galbraith were married on Dec. 22, 1947 at Christian Missionary Alliance in Pittsburgh. They have three children: David Paul Walborn of New Windsor, NY; James Dale Walborn of Tarboro, NC; and Linda Ruth Corbin of Frederick, MD. They also have five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The Walborns came to Concordia in 1996 after living in Altoona, PA. Before retirement in 1984, they were missionaries, serving in the Belgian Congo and Africa. Ruth was a schoolteacher until 1976 and homemaker after that. The Walborns are currently members at Freeport Road Alliance Church, where David is an Elder and Assistant Pastor. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

In their spare time the Walborns enjoy writing to their family and photography.
