Concordia Lund Resident to Celebrate 100th Birthday

Cabot, PA – Concordia Lutheran Ministries Lund Care Center resident Helene Wilkinson will celebrate her 100th birthday on June 16 with a family reception in the Lund activity room.

The former Helene Bewley was born in Renovo, PA on June 14, 1907. She married her late husband Myrl Wilkinson on Feb. 2, 1930 and had two children, Virginia “Ginger” Wolff of Glenshaw and Robert Wilkinson, who is deceased. She has seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Wilkinson was a member of Elfinwild Presbyterian Church and Calvary United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh. She worked for Methodist Publishing House for 25 years before her retirement. At one point in her life she also worked in a shirt factory making $0.40 per day.

A graduate of Bellevue High School, Wilkinson enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She has been at Concordia since 1997.
