It’s over 27 years that I’ve been at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, and at times it feels like I’ve seen it all. From experiencing the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and everything in between, one thing has remained constant: I’ve always worked with the best caregivers around – people who understand that we must adapt to the rapidly changing world of health care while always keeping the care and needs of the patient as our top priority.
With this week being National Nursing Home Week, and subsequently Employee Appreciation Week at Concordia, I just want to take a minute to express my gratitude for those who faithfully care for our patients and residents every day. You all are the reasons Concordia is what it is today – a place that serves over 20,000 people in need each year with the highest quality caregiving in a loving, Christian environment.
When we think about quality, so many things may come to mind: a nice, private room, state of the art equipment, a facility with all the bells and whistles… but I can tell you right now, while all those things are nice, they’re just the shell that care is provided in. It’s the people inside those shells who work for our patients and residents that define quality at Concordia. So to each person on our team, whether you provide direct care or are one of our many “unsung heroes” in the background, thanks for all that you do.
May God continue to bless our efforts.
