“Thanks to the leadership of New York Life Insurance Company, whose agents have adopted Camp Erin as one of their primary charitable causes, I’m so proud to report that in excess of $40,000 will be netted from this year’s Purse Gala,” said CLM Director of Development Scott Koskoski, ACFRE.
The night was hosted by Heather Abraham of KDKA-TV2 and included a fabulous purse raffle featuring 20 designer handbags, the special addition of a limited edition, rare Louis Vuitton collectible purse, a star-studded sports-themed silent auction, a buffet dinner and special VIP cocktail hour. The Purse Gala was capped by a heartfelt video describing the Camp Erin experience followed by a touching testimonial by sisters Allie and Andie Beck, ages 11 and 10, Camp alumnae who lost their father several years ago. After the Becks spoke, a special fundraising appeal hosted by Koskoski brought in more than $12,000 in five minutes.
“The night could not have gone much better, but the most important thing is to demonstrate to the children how much we adults care for them, especially in their time of need,” Koskoski said. “Our committee has quickly turned the Purse Gala into one of Pittsburgh’s up-and-coming fundraising events.”
