2019 Concordia Oktoberfest Entertains 1600 | PHOTOS

October 8, 2019

To say this year’s Oktoberfest was verwunderlich (amazing) would be an understatement! On October 5, approximately 1,600 residents, families, friends and community members came out to the Cabot campus to enjoy the annual festivities this year. (Read more for photos)

The weather could not have been more perfect as mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine carried through the entire event until the evening’s fireworks display. There was a little mud in the kids area due to some previous damp weather, but that didn’t stop 450 kids from enjoying the free activities – including pumpkin painting, pony rides, a bouncy castle, balloon artists, hayrides and MUCH more. We think the parents enjoyed the free food vouchers for the kids as well!

The authentic German food, prepared by our very own chefs and food service staff was kὂstlich (delicious) and a fan favorite as usual. The Mikey Dee Polka Band entertained the crowd with lively polka classics all evening. And the perfect fall day was wrapped-up with a spectacular fireworks display by Pyrotecnico! Special thanks to our friends who generously sponsored a portion of the fireworks display:

• Ecolab

• Get It Done Mailing Service, Inc.

• Jan-Dee Janitorial Supplies

• McCutcheon Enterprises

• State Industrial Products

• Trimark SS Kemp

A special thank you to everyone who attended, the staff who planned and helped with the event and the volunteers who donated their time and talents to make this year another Oktoberfest to remember!
