Thirty five kids spent last weekend at Camp Good SAM, a Good Samaritan Hospice-sponsored bereavement camp for children who have lost a loved one. The weekend is much like a "regular" summer camp, filled with activities like swimming, crafts, campfires and the like, but it also lets children ages 6 12 know their grief is normal and helps them face their loss. Thanks to community support, grants, and organizational sponsorships, Camp Good SAM is free.
Special thanks to all the helpers, volunteers, counselors, donors and staff for making this year's camp another one to remember! Check out some pictures from the weekend below and leave a comment if you like. For more information, visit Good Samaritan Hospice on the Web, call 1.800.720.2557 or e-mail here.
Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, has inpatient facilities in Wexford and Cabot, while its in-home services offer end of life care in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler and Westmoreland counties.
