The health and well-being of our patients, residents and team members is our number one priority. Despite many of the counties in which we operate beginning to re-open, per the Departments of Health, Concordia is still operating under a no visitation policy, except for patients/residents in end-of-life situations. However, those wishing to see their loved ones can schedule time with them at one of our safe visitation areas. Please call your loved one's facility for more information. Balance Exercises for Seniors

March 8, 2011

Every year, many seniors are hospitalized from falls usually due to loss of balance. Loss of balance typically comes from a lack of body strength and energy, which can often be improved by doing simple exercises around the house.

Dr. Nicholas Reiser, director of physical therapy services at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, has over 10 years of experience working with senior patients who have experienced a fall. In this short video, he offers a few exercises for seniors to increase their body strength and help prevent loss of balance.

Always consult your physician before starting a new exercise routine.

Concordia Lutheran Ministries, recipient of the inaugural PA Excellence in Quality Care Award for its high scores in meeting government standards, operates three skilled nursing/short-term rehab facilities in western Pennsylvania. Click here to visit the Skilled Nursing page on our website.
